I was born and raised in Arkansas City, Kansas. My family attended the Friends Church there. While growing up, my parents were the resident managers of Camp Quaker Haven, a Christian youth camp owned by Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends.
I met my husband, Michael, while attending Barclay College (Friends Bible College) in Haviland, Kansas. We were married in January of 1977. Since then we have lived in Kansas, Texas and Colorado. We have attended the Friends Church in every town we have lived. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by “Friends” my whole life.
Michael and I have two children. Jessica is married to Jason Van Meter. They have three children: Eliana, Madison and Nehemiah. Jessica has a degree in Christian Elementary Education and is working at Little Friends Learning Center. Our son, Jared, is married to Cairistiona. Jared is the Minister of Music at First Denver Friends Church. He also works part-time at PREP.
I have worked as secretary at First Denver Friends Church since September 1993. I consider it a privilege to work for the great group of Christian people who attend First Denver Friends Church.
