Responsible to:

  • Committee Chair

Purpose:

  • Discern the spiritual direction God would have our church head, and determine the best way for the entire church to make the journey.

Sample Activities:

  • Evaluate staff, approve membership, coordinate Labor Day Camp, evaluate direct and improve worship.

Responsibilities:

  • Is a consistent witness for Christ.

  • Pray for the work of the committee and staff

  • Attend committee meetings.

  • Hire, fire and evaluate staff (Senior Pastor, Music Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, and Ministry Coordinator).

  • Evaluate and help create staff job descriptions.

  • Work with staff to determine the direction God would have our church head to grow spiritually and numerically.

  • Work with staff to determine what kinds of programs our church should be concentrating on, and then oversee these programs (e.g. small groups, school of ministry, Stephen Ministry, etc.)

  • Coordinate spiritual renewal conferences.

  • Work with staff to insure quality worship services.

  • Coordinate substitutes for staff during vacations.

  • Approve new and transfer membership requests.

  • Coordinate Labor Day Camp, Thanksgiving service/breakfast, decorating the sanctuary for Christmas and collection for staff Christmas gifts.

Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 5 hours per month (3 hour meeting monthly, plus any assignments).

Length of Commitment:

  • One or two years (Maximum of 6 consecutive years).

Training:

  • No additional training required.

Special Qualifications:

  • Must be a member of FDFC.

  • Ability to create, evaluate and implement mechanisms for attaining spiritual growth in our church body.

  • Spiritual discernment.

  • Desire to help others grow spiritually.
